"This is the worst trip I've ever been on" canta Brian Wilson in "Sloop Jai B", Frankenstein version del classico di Pet Sounds, qui riarrangiato e ristrutturato con tanto di vocals originali come un incrocio tra i Fiery Furnaces meno pop e i Fiery Furnaces più pop. Ed è una frase che riassume bene l'afrore che pervade il disco, tra le melodie Kevin Ayers della title track, le emergenze stoner in salsa dispari di "Trapped in the GRA", il groove Talking Heads di Crash City (che c'entra lo stacco kebab però?) o lo strumentale "Big Daisy" ispirato e dedicato a Tim Smith dei Cardiacs. A volte i cambi sono talmente repentini che non si fà in tempo ad aprire l'ombrello che torna il sole, come in "From head to twelve", cinque canzoni in una, passando dai Mogwai ai Wings alle Spice Girls di Viva Forever in cinque minuti e ventinove, nuovo record europeo. Di certo non si può dire che la prescrizione zappiana, "Anything Anytime Anywhere for No Reason At All", non sia stata ampiamente rispettata.
